Rochester: November 15, 2014 at the age of 96. Mr. Abel was a WWII veteran who proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Katherine Abel; sister-in-laws, Rita Abel and Esther Abel; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Andrew and Margaret Abel; sister, Anna Abel; 2 brothers, Arthur and George Abel; and his longtime companion, Ms. Edna Winstanley.

Friends may call WEDNESDAY 10-11am at ALL SEASONS CHAPEL at WHITE HAVEN MEMORIAL PARK 210 Marsh Rd. where a Funeral Service will be held at 11am. Entombment will follow. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Baird Nursing Home for the care and attention they provided in making John's final days as comfortable as possible. Those wishing may have a mass offered for the repose of his soul.
