Obituary for Sr. Mary Corinne Cimineri

CIMINERI, S. MARY CORINNE, RSM, after a brief illness Sister Corinne was called home to God on the first day of winter (Dec. 21) to experience an eternal springtime in heaven. During her more than 80 years as a Sister of Mercy, S. Corinne, who entered from Clyde, NY, spent most of those years feeding the students at Mercy High School and Notre Dame High School in Elmira where she served for more than 50 years. Sister Corinne was a woman who loved life and knew how to find joy in simple pleasures. She took delight in following the students and their achievements in both academics and sports. In retirement she continued to serve her sisters and others baking once a week and sharing goodies with her community. She is survived by her sister, Edith Feiock, her sisters-in-law, Irene and Anne Marie Cimineri, many loving nieces and nephews and the Sisters of Mercy.

Friends may call on Dec. 28 from 4-7 p.m. followed by a Vigil Service at 7 p.m. at Mercy Center, 1437 Blossom Rd. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tues. Dec. 29 at 10 a.m. at Mercy Center followed by her burial in Clyde, NY.
