Obituary for Sr. Mary Brigid Quinn
Brighton: God called Sister Mary Brigid Quinn, RSM on October 12, 2017
during her 72nd year as a Sister of Mercy.
Sister Brigid came to the Sisters of Mercy from St. Charles Borromeo Parish. She received a BS in Education from Nazareth College and a MA in Theology from Dayton University.
She taught in several Diocesan Catholic schools in Rochester and Hornell, as well as being principal of St. Charles Borromeo School. In the 1970’s she made the transition to ministry as a Pastoral Associate and served in several parishes as well as being a volunteer for Tioga County Rural Ministry. She also served as Coordinator for retired sisters at Mercy Center.
Survivors include her sister, Marguerite Mahoney, nieces, nephews, and the Sisters of Mercy.
Friends are welcome Monday, October 16, from 4 to 7 PM at Mercy Center, 1437 Blossom Road, with a vigil service at 7 PM. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, October 17, 10 AM at Mercy Center. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Sisters of Mercy.
