Anne Carol Dievendorf Ashley, age 69, of Cashmere Court, Rochester, NY, passed away peacefully following a long battle with cancer on Friday, September 15, 2017, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Watertown, NY on October 24, 1947, she was the daughter of Charles and Veronica Dievendorf. On June 28, 1969, she was united in marriage to Bill Ashley at St. James in Gouverneur, NY, by Rev. Paul Oahler and Rev. George Easter.

Her husband; daughter Veronica of Penfield, NY; daughter Kate and her husband Joseph Manahan and their children Claire, Benen, and Nolan of Manlius, NY; two brothers, Lynn of Williamsburg, Virginia, and Charles of Malone, NY, survive her.

Anne was a 1965 graduate of Gouverneur Central High School and received an associate degree in dental hygiene from Farmingdale College on Long Island in 1967. She worked for Dr. Michael Yunker and other Rochester dentists for over thirty years. She was an active member of Church of the Holy Spirit in Penfield.

Anne enjoyed the outdoors, especially summers at the family camp at Sylvia Lake, Fowler, NY, and was an avid gardener, but most of all she was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a firm believer in faith, family, and friendship and will be greatly missed and long remembered by family and friends.

Calling hour begins at 1:00 P.M. preceding the 2:00 P.M. Funeral Mass at Church of the Holy Spirit at 1355 Hatch Road, Webster, NY 14580, on Monday, September 18. A reception on site will follow. A memorial gathering will be held at Greene Funeral Home in Gouverneur 1:00 P.M.-2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 19, to be followed by interment in St. James Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance (www.ocrfa.org).
